Alufix opens office in Vienna and and strengthens Austria as a business location

Following the acquisition by Biosphere Corporation and its return to the European market in November of last year, the traditional Austrian brand is pushing ahead with its Austrian business with its new Country Manager Christoph Sperlich. By anchoring the operational business in the newly founded office in Vienna, the Alufix brand maintains its traditional connection to Austria and at the same time strengthens the domestic economy.

“With Christoph Sperlich, we have been able to recruit an expert in the industry for our team. In his position as Austrian Country Manager of Alufix, he not only brings his technical know-how and creative impulses, but also comprehensive knowledge and awareness of the Austrian market. In addition, with our new office in Vienna, we are further expanding the Alufix team and once again anchoring the brand in Austria,” emphasizes Yuriy Golianych, General Manager Household, Recycling and International Business at Biosphere Corporation.

Born in Vienna, Christoph Sperlich can look back on a successful career in the Austrian retail industry. The 53-year-old gained a wide range of professional experience at Gillette Group Austria, Electrolux Central Europe East, Sony Austria and, most recently, Procter & Gamble Austria. As Alufix Country Manager for Austria, he will take over all sales agendas for the German-speaking market during the start-up phase.

With regard to the needs of domestic consumers and with the specific expertise of the Biosphere Corporation, we work strictly according to the highest quality standards and can ideally bundle our joint expertise. In addition to the popular classics, we were also able to include innovations such as Aluflexy – new extremely elastic and hard-wearing garbage bags – in our product portfolio,” says Christoph Sperlich, Country Manager Alufix Austria.

For decades, Alufix has stood for high-quality and innovative products that play an important key role in the everyday life of private households, the hotel and catering industry, and the public sector. The best quality is achieved through a high degree of automation in production in compliance with strict standards – this is also the case in the production facility in Romania.

Alufix maintains strong position in Austrian retail. Among others the large retail chain METRO continues to rely on the high-quality Alufix product portfolio in Austria and offers a comprehensive range of products in its stores.

In terms of environmental protection, the focus of production is on expanding the sustainable product range – for example, all Alufix bin bags are made from recycled material. This is achieved through the collaboration with Polygreen, the largest recycling plant in Ukraine, which safely processes up to 900 tonnes of polyethylene waste per month and was opened by Biosphere Corporation in 2014. In addition, Alufix offers “Green Nature”, a 100% environmentally friendly product line that includes aluminium foil, bin bags and baking paper. Alufix’s goal is to establish the largest sustainable product range with the highest quality standards.
